Books are magic and when you read them the characters come alive in your imagination.

At the Cape Town Book Fair some of the characters you love will be there to meet you, that's right you will be able to shake their hands.

On Saturday 14 June you can meet Miffy the rabbit at Stand E7 at 10.30am , and she will be at the Book Fair every day.

If your favourite character is Peter Rabbit then you can meet him at Stand F15 at 10.30am. Just make sure that he doesn't steal any of the delicious food you have bought at the fair.

Spot, the lovable puppy, will be bouncing around the fair at 11.15am on Saturday at stand F15. Come and give him a pat, and see all the exciting books about Spot and his friends.

Apart from the characters you can meet, there is also a special zone for children, just for you, and there will be exciting activities and authors to meet. Your mom and dad can have a coffee break at the coffee shop that will be right next to the Children's Zone.

Some of the things you can do in the zone are kids yoga, and arts and crafts.

There's no better way to keep yourself busy than by escaping into a good book, and you'll have plenty to choose from a the book fair.
