CTBF Monthly - April 2009

Dear CTBF Exhibitors and Partners

With the majority of the Cape Town Book Fair programme going to bed at the end of March, there are sparks flying across the keyboards at the Cape Town Book Fair office. So much comes together in these next few weeks - within our offices and yours as all the planning and dreaming is fast transformed into reality or, in some cases, shelved or abandoned.

It's been a tough year for all arts organisations with the global financial crisis having a distinct impact on sponsorship potential. Belt tightening in all areas is definitely the new black. For industries that already work on the tightest of budgets, this is an additional challenge. However, thankfully creativity is a particularly strong point within the world of books and publishing and we're looking forward to presenting another wonderful programme, to be announced to the press and unveiled on our website on 7 May 2009. As always, most of the programme will be free to the public and the fair will be a welcome place to think, imagine and ponder.
