The South African book market leveraging domestic success

South Africa is proud of its sophisticated publishing industry and high quality production. Demand is high, with 70% of the titles on offer imported from English-speaking countries. And the demand for low-priced titles in English is steadily increasing.

South African publishers cover all 11 official languages, however, most publications are in English and Afrikaans. The confidence of local publishers has increased with their success, and they are now moving beyond their domestic markets to become more international in scope.
